Position Summary

As the front line of our Personalized Benefits Education Service, Benefits Educators provide meaningful and individualized education to our clients' employees according to the respective employer's initiatives and benefits packages. By helping navigate the enrollment process, our team of insurance professionals works both telephonically and face-to-face with employees to help them make the best decisions for themselves and their families. We value those who serve in this integral role and make sure they have the tools and support needed to succeed. Benefits Educators can be located in anywhere in the US and work remotely from home, or on client site.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Educate and enroll individuals in employer’s benefits packages. Enrollments are completed via individual telephonic and/or face-to-face meetings.
  • Maintain thorough and current knowledge of core and voluntary benefits including but not limited to: PPO and EPO plans, High-Deductible and Consumer-Driven Health Plans, HSA’s, HRA’s, FSA’s, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Whole Life, Term Life, Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity and any other insurance programs typically offered by an employer.
  • Completion and timely submission of employee benefit elections via benefits administration systems, carrier platforms and proprietary Benefits Educator portal system.
  • Attend mandatory internal trainings as required for case assignments

Required licensing and coverage:

  • Active resident-state health and life insurance license in place prior to application
  • Non-resident licenses as required for case assignment (company paid)
  • Ability to be appointed by all major insurance carriers
  • Active, full coverage personal auto insurance

Required skills:

  • Superior interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  • Intermediate computer skills with ability to simultaneously manage multiple applications with minimal instruction
  • Ability to prioritize and respond with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Must be respectful, pleasant and enthusiastic with a strong desire to help others
  • Flexibility to travel and freedom to accept assignments with little notice, particularly in the fall season 
  • Must have access to a quiet work space with internet and cell phone for telephonic cases
